With summer in full swing, we’ve put together some of the easiest and more important tips to take care of your pet during this hot weather.
- Keep your pet’s coat clean, tangle free and free of excess hair. Taking care of your pet’s coat will help it regulate temperature naturally and to protect its skin from the sun.
- NEVER leave your pet in a parked car!
- Limit exercise during very hot days. Try to walk your dog early in the morning or in the evening.
- Always carry fresh, cold water for your pet.
- Watch for signs of heatstroke: heavy panting, glazed eyes, rapid heartbeat, difficulty breathing, excessive thirst.
This is a beautiful time to enjoy the beautiful weather with your furry friends but remember to keep them safe and cool!
