Yesterday I witnessed a woman getting instantly furious with a homeless teenage girl who had slept at the entrance of her office. She called the police and she had them take the girl away. Regardless of our opinion on what happened, we all can agree anger was what made this woman react. Anger makes us act…
The incident made me start asking myself a series of questions: “How could that woman do something like that? Could I ever act that way? At what point do we lose our compassion for others?”
I realized that anger comes from resisting an uncomfortable reality. And we resist because we are afraid. Everything that is uncomfortable becomes an immediate enemy. And it makes us angry!
But let’s not succumb to rage. Let’s use anger as fuel instead. Let’s use it as a motivator. I get angry about injustice and inequality everyday. But I use this anger to run every day. I use my anger as a motivator to fight for equity. I use my anger to create positive outcomes. I’m so angry I want to do more!
Let’s do it together. Let’s get angry, and let’s change the world!
