Victoria Lara has been a tireless community leader and civil rights advocate for more than a decade. She is the founder and CEO of Lara Media Services, LLC. The growth of the Latino community and the potential for culturally sensitive engagement prompted her decision to open her own agency. Lara Media is the only Latina woman-owned marketing agency in the Pacific Northwest.

Her endless commitment and advocacy for the community has earned her recognition as an American Dreamer recipient in December 2013 and Small Business Champion in May 2014.

Victoria has been an active member of the community. She currently serves as the President of Causa Oregon, treasurer of Oregon Latino Health Coalition, board member of Hacienda CDC, and All Hands Raised, committee advisor for James Beard Public Market, and committee member of Metropolitan Alliance for Workforce Equity. Aside from being involved in the community, Victoria is a strong supporter of civil rights organizations like PCUN and Latino Network. She is currently participating in Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest, 2015 Power of the Purse, an annual benefit event that promotes the wellbeing of girls.

Victoria believes that in order to navigate the complexities of today’s media landscape, media professionals should have a comprehensive understanding of not the only the Latino market, but all minority communities and only a person who lives the same challenges every day can understand and reach them in the right way.
